The Quest – A Decision Making Game
A serious game designed to reflect one's own personality in the context of teamwork.

Initial Situation
A handful of selected experts from the fields of research, science, archaeology, and zoology are embarking on a mission to a previously undiscovered region in the South American jungle. Expectations from the scientific community and the public are high. After all, it is believed that the area may contain not only plant seedlings that could be used to produce a revolutionary remedy for repairing damaged DNA, but also a multitude of undiscovered animals, the legendary treasure of the Spanish conquistadors, and the fabled elixir of life, Ambrosio. As many discoveries and achievements as possible are to be made within a few days. The only way to explore the area is by boat along the Rio Nuovo River. This river is known for its rapids and whirlpools. The deeper one ventures into the area, the riskier it becomes. Yet only those who follow the river to its end will be rewarded with discoveries that will change the world.
The Game
In this serious game, people with different personalities work together on individual and team tasks. Each person’s personality significantly influences which aspects they prioritize and how they approach challenges. Ultimately, the keys to success are communication tailored to the audience, taking responsibility, and effectively managing conflicts. The reflection section explores how these factors relate to the respective personalities and translates them into concrete recommendations for teamwork.

Target Group
The game is designed for participants who wish to experience and reflect on their own personality traits in a group dynamic setting, observe how individual personality and decision-making styles interact with situational and strategic decisions, identify and address conflicts between individual and team-oriented goals and priorities, and resolve them to achieve alignment, and wish to foster understanding of and communication with individual personality types and improve team communication.
The Workshop
The Quest can be conducted as a 3- to 4-hour workshop for groups of 5 to 10 people. The workshop is divided roughly equally between the game portion and the debriefing portion. During the debriefing, participants explore, through experiential learning, recommendations for improving teamwork and collaboration with people of different personalities. It is also possible to run multiple sessions simultaneously.
