The Venice Project

Initial Situation

From divisional or project teams to virtual or agile teams. The challenges are diverse across all teams. Do we have clarity on the mission or goal? Why are we doing this? How are we doing it? Do we have the right skills? Do we have a shared understanding of leadership? Do we have trust and appreciation for each other? Do we have purposeful communication? Do we have a culture of conflict? Serious games, such as the Venice Project, create situations that give managers the opportunity to analyze, reflect and define measures.

The Game

This management game takes you on a treasure hunt in the catacombs of Venice. As an expedition team, participants set out in search of success. Good planning, efficient communication, clear definition of goals and good leadership lead to success even in the face of unexpected difficulties. The starting point is a lateral leadership situation where each expedition participant is responsible for his or her character and behavior.

Target Group

The gamified board game is basically suitable for all teams. It is often used in human resource development programs such as soft skills training, leadership training/leadership or team development. It also serves as an icebreaker or kick-off for conferences and retreats or at corporate events or team events.

The Workshop

A workshop facilitated by game solution with a physical game board. 5 - 10 people form an expedition, whereby several expeditions can be conducted in parallel. After an introduction to the objective as well as the challenge of the expedition, the expedition follows. Within a given time, the expedition members, autonomously as a team, carry out the expedition. After the expedition, the expedition is debriefed on the basis of a customized debriefing for the client, and measures are defined. If required, the focus can be placed on various topics such as feedback as a management tool or characteristics of high performance teams. The duration of 2 to 8 hours depends on the objective of the workshop and the topic-related inputs, feedback or transfer tasks.
